III PROVINCIAL CONGRESS OF CASERTA UTL
REPORT OF THE SECRETARY SERGIO D'ANGELO
Four years ago I ran for the first time at the helm of the provincial secretary of the UGL of Caserta, in that circumstance a few colleagues of the time would have bet on the end of my mandate. Many of them voted for me at the time, they saw in me a sort of Charon, a boatman who would soon others left the helm and obviously for my young age and little experience, during that conference, my job was considered a gamble, indeed .... almost a suicide !!!!.
Today I am happy to come here, at the Hotel Serenella, to report on what has been done in recent years as a tangible sign that the job I was given was carried out with determination, confidence and technicality. The French would say with a lot of "Savoir Faire".
In the firm belief to believe that they had the best on any kind of suspicion and that I earned your trust, I feel ready, to ask you today that confirms that I am sure that you have earned on the political and human-union.
The schematic summary on the work, which will focus in the course of my speech will mark the most important steps that have been the growth of the union in recent years and delimit the boundaries of what will be future work. I would start talking about our new business card, the flagship of the secretariat, led by me this website that with the constant presence in the press has allowed us to get out of the shadows of our offices and even reassuring us has consistently shown in the online world. I say no doubt it has renewed and rejuvenated the union in Caserta, had snatched the potential of new and union leaders have exploited the characteristics of historical paintings that have decided to cooperate. I am proud to have conferred with confidence to the members of my voice, difficult and important tasks, which were conducted and processed in the best way. In my work as Territorial Secretary, I wanted to play the role of Secretary as a laborer, I aside any unnecessary presumption and with my team we have finalized the proposals, submitted projects, organized seminars which are still in town and talk to which we have always been able to give a sequel. Our popular interventions were required in the most important events in the region and the calls came from all political parties, a clear sign that we are serious in defending and protecting workers has been able to look beyond the flags and political affiliation, union , religious and ethnic.
Our participation in national events has always been quantitatively and qualitatively important, and the fact that a representative of the UGL Caserta (Angelica Pizzuti, head of the Coordination Women) took the stage of the national demonstration on May 1 of 2008 Rome to make their own contribution is one of many confirmations. Our stand has stayed in every corner of the province, bringing our movable lid as close to citizens who have shown curiosity, interest and appreciation. We have been able to deal with moderation and
responsibility for the terrible days of the emergency barren waste without raising barricades against all proposals that were made from time to time. In those days we were able to apply with the necessary determination to preserve the white gold produced in our province, represented by the buffalo mozzarella that allows you to work and give visibility to the entire Campania region. I think I closed the office riding brilliantly, thanks to the synergy with Giuseppe Raimondi's police union, the recent conflict and battle of speed cameras, which a priori might seem wrong and fought against as road safety, and has instead demonstrated a posteriorly che we were right: for the Investigation of the first of August give us ample reason. The UGL Caserta has always spending in defense of workers in distress. We have often treated, and we raised our voice, but only when it became necessary, the old stereotype of union disputes that fortunately did not stay for the party took over the premises of Via Roma. We have always been able to tell the truth to the workers, without fomenting illusions: our office is certainly disputes the most popular and satellizzato the entire province for its continuous victories. The services offered to members in the Convention are top quality and range in all business sectors. I will mention only a mobility agreement, because the ability of a union is not measured in this field. We opened a multitude of zonal offices in every corner of the province, all activities and tasks, where all our parallel structures such as patronage ENAS, CAF UGL UGL SEI, ASSOCASA certificates offer quality services.
We have multiplied, made known and appreciated, we were a good team, a modern trade union that, thanks to the strengths and synergies built has been able to organize the union inetrventismo, let me therefore to look at those years as years of growth and certainly fruitful.
Now we are faced with the more hard evidence, confirm and ensure continuity in the initial work, certainly more difficult the affirmation of the very first time. The economic and social conditions that lie ahead are out of the planned economic crisis shaking the wrists and not only remembered as someone who spoke before me, now this is no longer the time and errors of the experiments, the sacrifices today for better tomorrow , must do good and do it quickly. None knows how long the crisis, economists are themselves in crisis and nobody has the magic bullet to get out, no one knows what are the emerging sectors and where the problems are over, but I know we will fight on the front line because in heavy industry, such as in that light, in trade, crafts as in any workplace health is lost, we shall watch closely and constantly with the workers. And we will do in terms of safety, especially: in the countryside where, as we said at the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the phenomenon of dead white workers often work in black and there is no real register of accidents and risks. The minutes of silence proclaimed throughout the province in late 2007 and the birth of e-mail has been our life-saving initiatives which unfortunately have not scratched the least sensitivity and the immorality of those employers, criminals allowed, leaving their employees die. The effort to which I call the future will be focused and aimed to hit violators of the rules, because if we want to be a trade union which claims to respect and credibility, we must also run the risk of taking sides in the facts and not just with words against the scourge of organized crime. We will also specialize in all contracting of a second level, which will become our daily bread, and seize every opportunity training that will give us the confederation. As you can see a convention is also used to be able to look forward, to understand the path to follow where each hole is an opportunity for growth. I will go to this path just mentioned. Finally, I want to inform you that under the union fought and won many battles together, and considering the friendship that has always known how to secure the structure of Caserta, does not exist for us to vote for another candidate to the regional secretariat of the UGL, which if not Vince Femiano I offer to publicly express my support right now and best wishes for a great and deserved victory.
Just as four years ago, what lies ahead is a hot autumn, but I am sure will be a future of working and growing trade union victories that I hope we will accept.
conclude by turning my personal praise, but I think I can express on behalf of all, to Renata Polverini, our Secretary General, who along with his staff confederation has successfully completed the development work of our union providing those details that make our federation a reality mainly used in the Italian scenario.
