Report to Congress on Occupational Safety È ovvio che i continui incidenti sul lavoro, le tanto ormai famose Morti Bianche, non fanno altro che portare alla ribalta un problema storico quale la Sicurezza sui posti di Lavoro.
Sono qui, quindi, per ringraziare gli amici della Polizia Penitenziaria, che hanno voluto realizzare questo momento d’incontro su questo tema così delicato.

- La Fondazione Europea per il miglioramento delle condizioni di vita e di lavoro (1975);
- L’Agenzia Europea per la prevenzione nei luoghi di lavoro (1994).
Dal ’78 in poi è stato un succedersi di piani di azione tesi a salvaguardare il “modello sociale europeo” su una serie di tematiche fra le quali “ la sicurezza e la salute sui luoghi di lavoro”.

In questa ottica, emerge il ruolo delle parti sociali: i comitati di sicurezza, con composizione paritaria, devono essere consultati su tutte le questioni relative alla sicurezza e coinvolti nell’attività di informazione e formazione.
Ed un grosso passo in avanti l’abbiamo fatto, in Italia, con la definizione del Testo Unico sulla sicurezza e con l’emanazione del decreto attuativo degli ultimi giorni.
Testo unico che la UGL ha con forza chiesto già anni fa consegnano al Senato circa 50.000 firme.

Recently, the UGL Caserta Security has tried to raise employee awareness of the province, also proclaimed the end of last year a minute's silence in tutti i luoghi di lavoro per ricordare tutti coloro che nel 2007 hanno perso la vita lavorando.
Abbiamo proposto ai nostri iscritti e dirigenti sindacali corsi di aggiornamento sulla sicurezza sul lavoro, nel suo complesso, ed abbiamo avuto numerosissime adesioni.
È ovvio, che su questo tema assumono notevole importanza la valutazione del rischio e la Prevenzione, perché solo approfondendo questi aspetti si possono ridurre i pericoli.
Da questo ne scaturisce che la figura che acquisisce un ruolo indispensabile è quella del Medico Competente, che con la propria professionalità può veramente coadiuvare datore di lavoro e lavoratore con un opera responsabile di informazione, formazione e sorveglianza sanitaria.
